THIS PHOTO SHOWS A SHAFT BEING GIVEN THE FINAL CUTS OF A FEW ONE-THOUSANDTHS OF AN INCH (.001"). ONCE THIS OPERATION IS COMPLETED, THE JOINT PIN HOLE IS BORED AND THREADED.
HERE IS A "COCK-EYED" VIEW OF THE SHAFT BEING FINAL TURNED. I TOOK THIS PICTURE WITH THE ROUTER RUNNING AND THE CAMERA ACTUALLY "FROZE" THE CUTTER. THE CAMERA IS A CANON POWER SHOT SD500. The router bit is turning about 30,000 RPM.
